Just passing this on..... Dear rock hounds, It is with a very sadden heart that I have to report our Rodent Skull partially replaced with Malachite from the Blue Crystal Mine (one of our crowing jewels in the Utah Museum Cabinet) has been stolen from the rock shop. If you see the skull on any sale site, we would be very grateful if you report it to us or Salt Lake City Police Department. Case Number: T15009096

Pretty stupid stealing something so unique.
Obviously it has been photographed many times.
Jack@ss can go directly to jail and may not collect $200.

Damned scumbag. They should tie him down in a tank full of starving rodents.

Hope you get it back soon. Some people are just awful.
When the rodents are done with 'em, they should soak his skeleton in copper solution. Poetic justice eh?

Ha ha y'all are brutal about this.
I'll keep my eyes out online. Someone who stole it must be trying to get a profit cause any rockhound I know wants to find their own stuff

Yeah, you can't sell it (legally/openly). You can't display it openly.
But...think about all the priceless art pieces from the Holocaust that have been found in *private* collections through the years. Some rodents (oops, sorry if I slighted the rodent contingency) lowlife scumbags who steal or "acquire" these type of irreplaceable and priceless objects do so for their on sick pride/selfishness/greed/desires/lusts/etc. If I had something like this rat skull I would certainly want to share it with folks (as was being done with it in the museum) but for some people simply having it as a possession is "what it's all about"...simply to take it out once every few years and look at it a couple of minutes and return it to its tomb...or maybe show it to fellow inbreds on occasion.
Disgusting. I hope it's found and returned. What type of case/container/security did it have?
My very best wishing on getting this back...it is an amazing object!
