I cut this piece off the outside of a piece of crazylace I got from riverbendlapidary . After looking at it for a while not sure what to do with it my wife suggested I clean up the edges and make it into a cab - I didn't think it would hold up to the abuse but it did and looks really cool in hand.

That is so cool looking! I think it does make a good cab. Someone is gonna come along and fall in love with it.

Not sure if you call that a cab or a formed slab. Either way it is really cool!

You married so well. Please send her a hug from me. Oops Nice cab. Plan to polish? The sides (girdle if you can call it that) are polished and the top whitish area in the first picture are polished. The backside is saw-cut flat but I'm thinking about stabilizing it with epoxy.

I had a piece of red crazy lace that came apart and had those wild bubbles. I cabbed it leaving one side raw. I thought it looked pretty cool. I didn't have to stabilize it, but yours looks like it might need it.

Beautiful! Full of color and texture, with the extra fortification? in the center. I hope you set it. It needs to be worn.

Seems like a day or two in a vibe and it would be polished all over.
OTOH maybe matte is best?

I didn't have to stabilize it, but yours looks like it might need it. The face is actually pretty stable - I fingernail chipped away everything that felt like it wanted to move. The part I think needs to be stabilized is the backside - it is saw-cut flat but a bit crumbly. Thinking about just applying a thin layer of clear epoxy to it.

Same thing happened on this one - the right side fell off and left some cool looking bubbles below. I went with it as-is and it sold about ten minutes after putting it on Etsy lol. People seem to like and appreciate "different"
