i've enjoyed great service from these folks for a while now, once they messed up (shipped the wrong thing) and i called them and they made it right with free shipping..and they always include a free gift. not edible, unfortunately, like the Rockshed does. Fire Mountain has a great online catalog, too, and their paper catalogs are free! can't say enough about how good this company is! KD

Ditto on the kudos for firemountain. I've had several orders from them and have never been disappointed. It's fast service and even the backordered stuff didn't take that long.

I just wish they carried more bell caps. Since I use epoxy and don't drill, Kingsly North is were I get most of my stuff, I can get it all in one order. Am I missing the bell caps somewhere?

but fire mountain is a bit limited for selection in that particular dept. Rio Grande has some up market ones, but they don't have an online catalog as far as i can see...nice paper hard copy catalogs, but they cost you ten bucks.....you get it back with your first oder, but these are some beyond amateur pieces here....but hey, Cookie, if you are selling stuff, you might want to invest in these. i got some chains from them at a decent price.

Hey KD, remember the other day when we were chatting and I signed up for the catalog? It came yesterday, pretty fast service on those too.

i got another "mis order" from FM, this has happened twice now, the tag says it is what you ordrered, but the contents aren't anywhere near! the folks are real easy to deal with in making it right, in this last case of mine it wasnt' worth my postage nor time to argue a mistake and i made out by 7 cents...my karma won't suffer much for that.

Just saw the post about the Rio catalogs... if you order online they are 10 bucks, but if you call the toll free number, they are Free! 800.545.6566 ....Just wanted to let you know....I too love FMG, am a member of the yahoo bulk group.... and their catalog is incredible! I am glad I found this board.... I am a jewelry designer, and this morning, was elated that one of my Christmas presents was a rock tumbler!!! So, I guess I am a TOTAL newbie ... DH wasn't thrilled..."greaaaaat, something ELSE to waste time with....." LOL! Looking forward to learning LOTS! Tamie aka PearlDragon

Great info here. I wrote FM about a product and got an answer almost immediately. I am also going to call Rio and see about a catalog... they have great products I hear.

Fire Mountainis so far a light in the wilderness. I live in Canada and they are fast, on the money with their prices and bend over backwards to help. The Rock Shed is also great and today I received some little candies, sweet and spicy, along with some new tumbler rubber containers. Somehow that just makes it all the more folksie doesn't it. I have now set up a new tumbler just for polishing -- learn from other people's mistakes. Goodness knows I make enough of them mystelf! Happy Polishing. We want those rocks to shine like the sun!

How long does it take to get a delivery to Canada? I hesitate to order from them because of the exchange and the $$$ shipping charges to deliver here... I do, however, order their catalogue and I get so many ideas from those - I only wish I could order from them. If you're looking for stuff from a Canadian site, I know of a few that are excellent.
