I’m thinking it’s an adjustment like on a miter Saw or table saw. You loosen a bolt, adjust angle to protractor degree you need then screw bolt back down to tighten the angle in place. I spoke with Al a few days ago. Is he not to cutes ever!!! You like curmudgeons. Lol What the heck??? Never heard that word. You gotta explain 😂

I went to his site and tried downloading the information kit?? and was not available lack of any specs like motor hp and as you have said the angle package. Does he expect you to buy first and kind of like Obama care then see what is in it? Is there a warranty? What are the wheel dimensions what are the brands I know Tella said Dayton for the motor (good quality for sure). Anxious to see what ya all think about it after using it. Al is an older gentleman. As he says, he is doing this to help out the craftsman community. He isn't doing it to get rich. I don't think he could handle a lot of business as he does nearly everything himself. He is committed to his product, though, even if he isn't the best salesman. One of the things that best impresses me about him is he is one of the original group to start the William Holland School. He truly is committed to the arts. He was helpful on the phone and via email, though I think he prefers the phone. (It's probably not even a cell phone.) He is clearly mechanically inclined. This grinder is very well made. It is thoughtfully designed. When I received it, I got the info and warranty on the motor. As for the machine, I have no doubt in my mind that should I have any troubles with it, he will be available to help take care of the problem. I know the site doesn't really represent him or the product very well. I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. I like this machine for several different uses. I may even get the accessories for it. Depending on whether I like doing this or not.

Rockoonz Thanks look forward to your review. Looked on you tube and only a very short vid that really didn't show much on it's capabilities.

I actually think he could charge more. I ordered an extra wheel (600 grit) from him because they were reasonable enough. It has a full metal backing. The machine comes with the only tool I should need, too.

The angle template kit is not included, what you get for $399 plus shipping is the basic bare bones unit with the tool for changing laps. On the accessories list I got the only thing I see that would act as an angle guide is the adjustable protractor. As far as first projects, maybe just "frame" some picture jasper. Another fairly easy project is a shadowbox if you have a small piece of optical quartz and a pretty stone that is not likely to take a good polish. Cap it then frame it in. Would that be the thing between the nutdriver and ruler? For those wondering what the angle gizmo is here is a video on it's intended use but I can see where it could be effective for intarsia. The one pictured above is not a particularly expensive one maybe $10 or less a good tool to have in the the tool box. Net post

minerken I have used a couple types of angle finders for lapidary for years, very helpful in laying out symmetrical shapes. Never thought if a drill sharpening gauge, looks like they could be particularly helpful.

Dictionary says otherwise Ahhhh then yes I do like curmudgeon 😂😂😂 But back on task... rockjunquie I’m thinking that when I buy the attachment that lets you adjust for different angles will be used most for Inlaying stones into bracelets. These are just pulled from Internet for my example For the stones to fit snug the sides will all have a taper almost like a facet. I’ll share a pdf I bought. I do not recommend buying any videos from this artist. I have an it’s a huge waist of money.

Yes, thank you for posting the tutorial! I'd love to do some inlay. The cuff blank looks a little intimidating though - but I hear you can buy them. I would have said Indian Jeweler's Supply was the best place, but they seem to have declared bankruptcy.

I would have said Indian Jeweler's Supply was the best place, but they seem to have declared bankruptcy. I purchased a blank from Rio its very light weight so I wasn’t impressed but I’ll still use it. I was hoping to get a last minute gift done with it to save time. Ended up not having any time to work with any of it. I do have a heavy gauge triangle wire that he uses to make the bracelet so when things slow down.....
