With nine votes in already my opinion is this poll should be nuked and a new one started with gemfeller's entry included. .. and please fix my photo(s). I don't get three photos when the others have one.

Nice cabs. It's hard to just pick one.

Nice lineup! I'm not going to say which one but the cab I voted for was because of the technical difficulty of working with the material. The artist achieved a beautiful result from a very difficult soft material that I myself have failed on several times.

Someone needs to break the tie, which has been there for some time. I voted for one of them. Both are very worthy of the win.

So congrats to spiritstone for the beautiful banded fluorite cabochon! Very difficult material to work with in my opinion and worth of the win. Honorable mention of course to gemfeller for the beautiful chalcosiderite cab.

Congrats Spiritstone! Fluorite is tricky to cut mainly because of its perfect cleavage in 4 directions -- it's very touchy and doesn't like vibrations. As an acquaintance used to say, only in the gem world is cleavage considered bad...

I thought they were all great, but I did end up deciding on gemfeller's, though spiritstone' fluorite is certainly worthy, too. Tough material.

I thought it was a tie? Never new of glenns rule if that happened, gemfeller deserves a pat on the back also. Thanks for the votes and all who participated. Before picking a theme for feb should I hold off until a decision is determined on the other contest? Give it a couple days? Hard enough getting people to join in one let alone two.

Some were especially more difficult then others.. and mime was very frustrating with all the undercutting (still love the material, if only the pic was better). Sorry for not responding earlier, less than a month before my show so i have been very busy prepping... This is only 1 of my desks... Anyway let me know your theme for next month and i'll get it up soon
