Just got back from my first time collecting in Burro Creek. It was a long drive there, a short time collecting my limit with a friend, one night drinking a lot of beer and camping, followed by a brutally long drive home. Had a load of fun and it was well worth it and I'd do it again at a moment's notice Guess my exact round trip mileage traveled down to the tenth of a mile expressed as a single decimal place (x.x). Everyone gets a self-regulated SIX guesses this time. Take them all at once or spread it out. First person to guess it exactly stops the contest. In the absence of an exact guess the closest to the actual number without going over wins. In the event of a tie for closest the prize goes to the first person who guessed it. Because cabochon makers are sometimes overlooked in these contests, this time the prize winner will have their choice of ONE cool slab of Burro Creek material that will make at least a couple of killer cabochons, OR the winner can choose a SFRB packed full of hand selected small/medium tumble rough that may or may not contain any Burro Creek material. Contest starts now and ends next Sunday night 2/18 around 7pm PDT or when I say stop. Good luck!

rockpickerforever yes round trip. Any guesses that do not have a decimal will be assumed to be .0 tenths which is still a valid guess - the tenths might be zero hehehe

Well, since i no idea where any of these places are, I'll just have to take some wild guesses based on how far "brutally long" would be. here's three guesses for now.
1995.9 1474.8 1301.4

Thought maybe that may have been the case (stag, no trailer). That's how those last minute trips sometimes end up.
But I'll bet you had a great time!

Shaking, rattling, and rolling for the first nine hours of my drive. Friday morning found me in a Kingman tire shop getting my brand new tires re-balanced and rotated because the installers at Sears are morons. The guy at the tire shop took off as many as five metal weights from a couple of the tires.
