I would vote for Stoney Creek Jasper because the yellow jasper is more delicate and dentritic than what I have seen in Stone Canyon Jasper. Also Stone Canyon Jasper has white quartz around the yellow jasper and this looks more clear over all.

Hi, I've collected all up and down Stony Creek - and Burris Creek and Black Butte lake, and I've not seen material that specifically resembles Stone Canyon. Stone Canyon is more "opaque" if that's the right word - it can also have agate but it really is more of a brecciated jasper as opposed to a brecciated agate/jasper like Stoney Creek with its "dirty" agate as I like to call it running through it.

Yeah, I'd say Stony Creek too, rather than classic material from the Stone Canyon pit. That being said though, Big Sandy Creek, Parkfield on the Varian Rch (V6), Creston, and the Ventura beaches all show a ton of variety in their breccias including types much like Stony Creek material....Mel
