I have no clue what im doing but it was just begging to be carved. 1st picture is how I found it. 2nd is my 1st attempt ever at carving. It's not done, I separated my left shoulder last week and well it doesn't like my doing this. So I have to give it a rest until shoulder is better Thoughts? Tips?

Thank you Tela. I think it's horrible. My daughter said it looks like a Pokemon thingy. I'll keep working on it

Yes. Wait for your shoulder to heal first. Looking good.

Great first try, I carve gems because there are no limitations in shape and design and every piece is a one of a kind, you have taken the first step, the more you do the more you will learn and enjoy this.

Carving, wow! My brain doesn't process things in a way that would lend itself to carving. I'm always in awe of people who can 'see' inside and bring it out. Looking forward to following your process.
What did you do to your shoulder?

I do not like that you fell down in shower. Like that you have a vision on the Moon Man.

How'd I miss this one? I can see the man in the moon. I think you have a great start on it. Just keep taking off bits that don't look like the man in the moon and you will have it.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder. Definitely let that heal first. The carving isn't going to go anywhere.
