My husband is sitting at the end of the couch watching rockhounding videos all on his own. Maybe, just maybe an out of state rock hounding trip is in our future.

I'm thinking out west, I love Agates and Jaspers. The video he was watching was on Opals in Utah I think? I always thought a self collecting trip was not in our future cause he's not as into this as I am, so I was quite surprised to hear some guy talking about finding all these Opals in a trench. I asked what he was watching and was surprised to hear it. I don't know how he got on rockhounding videos, but he was there.

The opals are probably Northern Nevada, Virgin Valley area that has several pay to dig opal mines.

*LOL* Once you get him out there he will find there's more to a rock outing than just rocks, scenery, wild flowers, critters etc. Very rewarding type of outing in many ways....Mel

If he is a manly man, make a big deal out of the tools that he will need: (big)tumblers, (big)saws, tools with diamonds! Really its Christmas in April.
