Really like the material. How was it to work with compared to other material?

Great use of the pattern! I certainly see the ape, in a helmet no less, maybe one from the "Planet of the Apes" franchise. Looks similar to some Gary Green I have seen. It is from the same general area as Gary Green and same composition (layered ashfall with some voids caused by organic material that rotted away). Ellipso usually has more complex, orbicular patterns, though it is sometimes sold as Gary/Larsonite. The miners took it around shows starting 7 or 8 years ago and were still selling slabs from their stock last year. Was a private/claimed dig that I don't ever recall being open to public (even clubs), and it was supposedly exhausted several years ago.

Just recently, I saw somewhere, maybe here, but I don't think so- that the regular Larsonite claim has been bought and it is now off limits. Do you know anything about that? Maybe they were referring to the ellipso claim....

What I read was very recent. I wish to hell I could remember where I saw it. It could have been completely wrong.

The Gary Green site is a large hill with maybe a 100 yards across flat top, that if the dirt was stripped away could be found to be made up entirely of green with blue jasper. At the same approximate elevation there is green/blue outcropping exposed around the outside of half the circumference of the hill. The so called 'Ellipso' variation of Gary Green comes from a 10' x 10' pit that has been dug on the western side of the exposed ring of outcrops and was shown to us by catmandeweWe were just there last month and made our usual bee-line over to the Ellipso pit and we did not encounter or see any claim markers or evidence of heavy digging - as I said a few days ago in this thread. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/995156/threadIt is only in the past week or so that I read Roy's post that Aaron ( wcminer) has claimed the site - maybe if he has time to jump in here and clarify the situation for us a bit?

Hello everyone, To clarify a bit on the gary green site, soon to be renamed caldera jasper, it is a series of patented mining claims, 17 to be exact. Last month we (West Coast Mining) purchased the 342 acre site. I have been in there for the last month Mining. In the very near future, we anticipate opening it up to fee digging with a lot of exposed jasper for people to dig themselves. In addition, we’re working on opening a rock shop in mcdermitt and providing material both locally and regionally, in the shop along with other things such as tools, supplies, spheres, etc. I will be able to elaborate more in the next few days. I’m currently going back out to the mine and will not have a cell signal until I get back into town.
