Ha, I too have a piece of BIF in my electroforming lineup for the same reason! Can’t wait to see it. While dino bone is my current favorite aesthetically, I can never get over banded iron from a geology perspective. Almost feel bad cutting up stuff that unbelievably old! Would love to see it when you are done I understand completely what you mean about it. It may not be the prettiest stuff but it's pretty darn cool

Not sure if yall can see, but the copper will fill in where there is what I am assuming is hematite It's really kind of cool This turned out great! I hadn't ever thought about hematite in stone plating, but I guess it would work on any metal in stone that is magnetic. Too cool!

Robin sent me some stuff to play with I incorporated the heavenly bamboo with a beautiful quartz crystal that I got from Billy This is just the 1st stage Thoughts? I like it! I think it's going to look awesome when it's finished. Can't wait to see. I can always send you more if it turns out for you. I have two big bushes of that stuff in my yard and it grows like a weed. I actually need to trim them down because they're getting to tall and bushy again.

I was wondering if those berries would make it. I have an idea, though. I'm going to get a sprig of them and then put them in my hot air fryer oven on the dehydrate setting and see what happens.
Looking forward to seeing the cypress ball.

Hopefully the berries won’t shrivel up like raisins. I know the berries aren’t like grapes, but the loss of moister still might cause some internal shrinkage.

Yep, they might, but we'll see what happens. Might be an interesting texture. You never know!

The experience with BIF Fascinating! Did you paint that central vein at all/connect it on the surface to the rest of the copper?

No, I just painted the area on the sides where I attached the copper wire with epoxy clay & the back of the stone. I have a feeling if I would of left it in there the whole stone would of been covered in copper

I like those colors together. It makes it look like one piece.

I have a Pietersite ring going and I have a feeling its gonna pick up copper as well.
Im tempted to seal it so that doesn't happen.

I'm liking the plating getting on/in some of those stones. I agree with sealing the Pietersite, though.

Not done yet but these are the 2 I experienced with thicker bands. The solution seemed to eat away at the 1st stone, which I thought was pietersite, now am not sure
