Newbee question here...What is the name of the small metal pin that fits in the autofeed shaft near the allen/hex screw. I took it out and now it's in two tiny slivers and won't go back in. Thank you.

Chances are it is cold rolled pin, Ace hardware will have them.

We always called them "roll pins". Hardware or auto parts. Or my neighbor's garage but that may not be as convenient for you.

10 or so years ago some wise .ss decided the things we have called "roll pins" for years now need to be called "spring pins". Might need to make this distinction if dealing with a counterman under 40 yrs. old. Had fits ordering them at work; young vender rep.

I'm sort of in the same boat - I'm taking apart a Raytech 10" saw with powerfeed. What's the best way to remove those pins? Do you have to destroy them to remove them? They tend to spread out & lodge themselves in the hole when I try to push them out with a nailset or similar punch. Is there a dedicated tool? Lynn

Lynn Just use a punch the same size as the pin, too small and the punch will go inside the roll pin, spring pin or whatever it is called these days!,

Lynn You can try what woodman suggested, but there are actually roll pin punches. I got a set for working on particular rifles I have. That said, regular punches (not nail sets) can work as long as the punch tip won't go into the hole and is the same diameter as the pin. It will also, more than likely, have to be straight sided and not tapered. ETA: Here's an Amazon ad that shows a good view of what roll pin punch tips look like. www.amazon.com/MulWark-Assorted-Corrosion-Resistant-Automotive/dp/B01N1HXR7A/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1527703664&sr=8-5&keywords=roll+pin+punch+set
