Picked these up at a rock shop in the bargain bin and would like an id on them if possible . The yellow mossy one is parts of a 3-4 pound chunk of nice solid material . The other one is about was a small flat piece I was able to split into two 3x3 inch slabs . If there is a resemblance of an official name for these , I would appreciate knowing it . Thanks . Thanks for any info .

Wow, that type of material is tough to ID with no clues as to local as those sort of patterns are just so generic. Similar material can be found in almost every western US agate deposit I can think of and a ton Mexico too. Looks like rough edged vein stuff so we can probably eliminate Rio Grande material but other than that? ....Mel

OK , so red/yellow moss agate it is . The pastel sorta shades on the second one has me stumped though . I'll have to dream up some fancy name for it . Like to say I dug them up in the back yard but think that would be a little ways from believable . Thanks for lookin .

Could you share where you purchased them? I can give you some names then. Also, are the lighter areas white or blue?

Sure , I can share . The shop is called Stone Hinge Rock Shop , up by Danbury . But the Mike , the owner gets a lot of material from others for the shop . Don't think he does much rock work anymore . If you are talking about the second pic , the lighter areas have a blueish tint and clear center .
