I'm planning a week long tent camping trip and thought it would be fun to ask- what is your favorite camping food- easy to fix, transport and store?
One of my favs is Knorr noodle alfredo with canned chicken. EZPZ. Of course, we love our popcorn, too.

Chili-Mac. Box of Kraft Mac&Cheese + can of vegetarian chili. Nutritionally indefensible (bring along a vitamin), but quick and hits the spot in the evening after hiking or digging.

Fresh caught fish. Minimal transporting from water to campfire. Cooked in either Aluminum foil with butter/herbs or in a campfire toaster. Most of my camping trips involved fishing.

Indeed - sounds delicious! Though that requires the premise that one catches the fish. The Fish & Wildlife Dept. has made $$$ off me over the years of trying. Doesn't matter the bait, the little sure-fire tricks, the time of day, boat or shore, no matter how many thousands are being caught on either side of me, or any other factors, they never chomp down on my line. Caught a big frog once, though Most of our rocks are in more desert-y areas, so camping in pursuit of rocks, I'd be limited to canned tuna, regardless.

foil packet dinners cooked on coals. ground beef patty, onions, potatoes, carrots, seasoning wrapped up in foil. Fresh fish is great too if it's available.

Daughter/son in law usually take a lot of MRE's when camping away from water. They bring lots of spices to make them tasty.

I second the "foil packet" cooking idea. There are so many different combinations of items you can cook in the foil packets. My favorite is ground beef, onion, peppers, potato, mushrooms, 1 T catsup, and spices.

actually this time of the year get some fresh sweet corn leave it in the husk and lay it directly on some hot coals from the fire. When the outer hulls are black (charred) the corn is steamed and done. yummy

Pull back the corn husks. Remove the silks. Wrap the corn in bacon. Put the husks back on. Dip in water, wrap in foil and bury in coals. Will be done in about an hour. The smell is amazing, as is the taste. This was our stadium tailgating standby. The smell alone brought lots of visitors.

hey! everything is better with bacon. I'll have to try that We even had Bob Ueker stop by at County Stadium in Milwaukee. Bacon is your friend for grilling wraps in foil. Can be used with fish, chicken, steaks and most veggies. Natural oil.

I'll go with powdered eggs. Been around forever and offer up creamy, delicious scrambled hot goodness. Got cheese? Toss in on, bacon, ditto. All sorts of ways to dress up this honest to gosh nutritional punch.

Fresh caught fish. Minimal transporting from water to campfire. Cooked in either Aluminum foil with butter/herbs or in a campfire toaster. Most of my camping trips involved fishing. Depends on if there is water and fish. I camp in the desert a lot. Unless there are sand fish I would starve relying on fishing.

I like beef stew. Tastes great and filling. Just warm up.
I also take pizza with me when camping. Can eat it warm or cold, no stove to set up or pans to clean if eaten cold.

I like to cook up a big crock pot of chili before I go so I can recreate the famous Blazing Saddles scene. Also I microwave taters to about 2/3 cooked at home and wrap in foil, then either toss one in the coals at dinner time or slice it into the frying pan for easy high elevation fried taters. Also I always take steak, usually frozen in a freezer bag with a marinade or my super special secret dry rub.
