Have an opportunity to trade for this. Just concerned.
An older Raytech Gem Maker (2 grinding wheel. 2 expanding drum, 2 flat lap). Walt said I should check the bearings. I am awaiting photos of it. Trade value was listed at $800.00, which seemed high to me. Did an internet search, and depending on quality, $600.00 value max.
The person who wants to trade refurbishes older equipment and does lapidary work. Also into things like small engines, electronics, etc. Refurbishes and trades for other items to repair.
Does anyone out there use one of these and what do I need to know? Thank you.

Following as I have an 8" Raytech Gem Maker and it's a tank. Deciding on it's setup wheel/drum/water system wise vs selling and getting a Cab King. Good luck with whatever you decide. I worked on a Genie at Lapidary school this week and they are completely different animals.....plastic vs Tank ….The Genie worked fine but didn't like the geysers for the water. Would love recommendations on wheel/drume setup from anyone. Thanks

Guess this post is dead I like my Gemmaker, refurbing it now. It's solid as a rock and room for plenty of wheels

Just seen this post.... I have this Unit and it's the best piece of lapidary equipment I have in my shop! It does excellent work on material, never breaks down, heavy duty for all purposes! Always worth scarfing up if you can!! They are a bit costly, but worth every penny! I look at quality, not price when I invest with lapidary equipment.. Tony Funk can supply you will any part on that machine..
