I tried to get pics and couldn't. I'll try some more later. I cabbed a piece of Indonesian palm root and I could swear it has gold in it. It's a small amount. I don't think it is pyrite. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Never heard of gold in pet wood but marcasite is occasionally present and if it has enough silica it won't even rust.....Mel

Yes, it is often described as "pyrite" in the Indonesian root, but I'd agree that it's more likely to be marcasite.
