There sure are some nice ones. May the winner this month win on it's own merits. I.e., the best cab it can be.

Don't think I can top stephan 's poppy jasper, but, what the heck, I already got a cab done.
This is Pilbara Picasso jasper. I thought it was pretty Halloweenish, color-wise.
Raw slab
Preform
Done.
I’ve never liked Picasso jasper, but I DO. Like that one!

Way to cinch it up Glenn. That's a really cool cab! yes I had it planned for a while. Just prepping for my rock and coin show. Have 350 rolls of wheat cents to roll and my ancient Roman coins to clean. Also make laser engraving examples and finish 2 batches of tumble rocks which is about 80 lbs or more among other stuff... setup is on the 16th

Congratulation's Jean!! Well, thank you for the congrats, Tommy, and thanks for bringing it up. With TG and everything else going on, I had forgotten all about it. I didn't even vote! Seriously, didn't think it had a chance...

Congratulations! Picasso: meh Pilbara Picasso: WOW! Thanks! Thank you, Pat. I had purchased the material a few years back, that was the first I had done anything with it.

Well, as the winner of the Oct cab contest, I guess I need to pick the theme for December. Was going to wait until tomorrow, but I think the month of December is going to be short enough, for most of us. So why wait?
With Christmas knocking at the door, it would be seasonal to make cabs using Christmas colors. Any true cab, either calibrated or free form, made from any red or green stones, or something sparkly. A druzy would fit the bill for that (nothing faceted). I already have one picked out! You shouldn't find that too limiting.
ETA - Before Glenn officially kicks off the December FCC, let me clarify that a cab of druzy cannot be domed in the usual fashion, lest you flatten out the crystals. As such, druzy cabs need not be domed. Maybe they can be specially shaped, such as a bell shaped bell. (LOL, beefjello )
Will let glennz01 post this on a new thread to start the contest. No procrastinators this month (Tommy ) , and don't forget to take before pictures of your rough/slab beforehand (rockjunquie ).
Hoping to get TEN PLUS entries for December! I know it can happen!

No procrastinators this month ( Tommy ) I don't know what you're talking about. It's Nov 30th and I still fully intend to start and finish a cab and enter it in this month's contest. Plenty of time.
