Asking for a little help, as I do not want to mess this up. Using a 3 lb. rotary barrel.
On 2/12, I started a run of 1/2 Dallasite, and 1/2 a mix of Poppy Jasper, Quartz, agates and fossils. Added about 1/3 cup of pre-polished, small ceramic triangles. Started in 120/220 SIC, as everything was beach tumbled, or had been through coarse.
On 2/21 did a clean out and put in what was supposed to be a 24 hr Borax clean. Well, the clean lasted until 2/24. Then put in 600 SIC pre-polish. Skipped the 400 SIC. Cleaned out yesterday and am running the 24 hr. Borax. Many already are becoming glossy.
Should I continue with the ceramics for the 1200 AO pre-polish? Switch to a combo of pre-polished mini pea gravel and tumbling pellets? Do a combo of all?
The pea gravel and pellets have gone through the 1200 AO stage about 6 times. The ceramics have been through 1200 about the same. I do not have many smaller rocks in this tumble. Most range from 3/4" to 2" in size. Some are larger. Would need about 1/2 to 2/3 cup of either the ceramics, pea gravel or pellets.
The Dallasite is uncharted territory for me.
Thank you

How did your dallasite turn out? It’s a favorite of mine.
