This just in: We're screwed. Here's our latest forecast: Very heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Blizzard conditions and significant drifting are likely with heavy snow and wind gusts as high as 60 mph. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM! Prepare now for hazardous winter weather and continue to monitor the latest forecasts. Mike, I hope you are hunkered down and stay safe! I'm praying the storm won't be as bad as they are saying. I was kidding about the screwed part, it will be fine. Thank you, though! The weather service is now predicting 18-24" storm total with 65-70 mph winds, starting with freezing rain overnight tonight. We'll see, they've been wrong before. I'll just take a couple of days off and hole up in the house- or maybe start up the heaters in the garage and work on some rocks!

Hope your forecast is wrong.
We only had about 5" in the latest round. Rain for the next 3 days, up to 2.5". Flood watch.

Thus I learn something new every day... These Pitts-Burgers claim everything and anything... I was told the time change happened because of Pittsburghers - before internet fact changing... Might as well believe it...
BUT! Never! Never, I say, will I believe in 'The Stealer Nation!'
Thanks for the Washington Post history lesson... Although, as Mr. Donnie (the trump) claims - it's "fake news..." Yeah, it's all "fake," my Bee Hienie!
I did note that the Germans did change the time cause they didn't want to turn the lights on, though... So at least that much is true...🤣

Emergency declared for entire county due to flooding. Many roads are closed, including my main routes to work. Cities are providing sand bags for residents.
Unless roads around work are closed, I will need to find some other roads to drive on to get there. The 4' frost depth is causing major run off problems.

Ventured out to do chores. Barn is flooded. Driveways have flowing water over ice. Can see that a lot o water is running into my small garage. I have no way to open the garage door to move some items higher. A couple of photos of the new river in my back yard. It is about 50' wide and 150 yards long. Estimated 3' depth at most. Flowing into low area of horse pasture. So, I have a new lake on my property. Named Appy Lake, in honor of my Appy horses. My barn door facing that direction is frozen shut, so cannot get a photo of that, but I know it is there. Yes, I must laugh at this situation. Only thing I can do. I have never had running water go into my back shed before. Everything valuable was removed from there last fall in anticipation of Spring nastiness. My tenant was storing some things there. Never had water come that much into my yard.

I am fine. Thanks for asking. 4-legged family members are survivors and have been through worse.
Made it to work and back. The area around where I work has very bad flooding. Many roads are closed. The county roads I used to get there and back were being closed when I came home. Due to potential wash outs of culverts. I was allowed to pass.
There are emergency evac centers being set up Northeast of me. Many homes are being flooded. Businesses too. A huge mess.

I'm glad you're fine. We got 17" of snow- I'd rather have snow than flooding any day of the week. Take care.

Oh, no worries. Thank you, however. The snow is done and it's supposed to be in the 40s for awhile I think. No rivers here in town but there are some flood warnings out in the rural areas. Shoveled out most of the day yesterday and made about an eight foot high sledding hill next to the driveway for the grandson. But thanks again, you stay safe as well!

How is it going this St. Patrick's Day? Not much green around here, ha! Mud, frozen mud, ice, piles of snow. You guys still buried/flooded?

I worked last night. WE had a green beer for the party.
Many roads are still closed. My place is fine, for the most part. Still lots of flooding in yard and fields. The colder temps are helping.
Things in Nebraska are much worse state wide than here. Cattle and calves who are being born are dieing. Farmers cannot get them food or take care of the calves. Many farmers are staying at their homes, which do not have electric now, just in hopes they can get to their animals.
Our problems are only over about 1/3 the state. Nebraska is having problems across the entire state. Did you know that Nebraska has more miles of rivers than any other state? Found that interesting, as I never knew that.
I had mentioned in another thread about a local farmer who plowed the snow off his 80 acres of cropland. It worked! All the other area fields are flooded. His are fine. I am very curious what will be planted there.
Stay safe everyone who is experiencing bad weather or the after effects. Keep others in your thoughts and prayers.

Like I said, we're getting some rural flooding in creeks but the side of the state I live in isn't horrible. Beth is right about the rest of Nebraska. It's pretty bad. Towns flooding, bridges and roads washed out, livestock dying.
