Yes, Montana. The one on the right is Willow Creek. I tried different technique (for me) of rotating the edges and work toward the center. I know this is standard, but I usually work vertically from the girdle line and keep removing material and then work on the dome.

I bought a bunch of rough Montana nodules last year and 4 years ago. I have some small pieces glued to 2x4 boards. I cut some and then the clutch went out on my saw. When I get a smaller slab saw, I'll cut them.
Buying Montana rough online is tricky. A lot of it isn't usable to make great cabs. I cut a lot and ended up with some nice slabs. I bought it on ebay. The first time after making some purchases from the seller he agree to put together a flat rate box of nodules he selected for me and the second I messaged on ebay about some lots he had on buy it now. Slabs are much more expensive than I am willing to pay. The seller is fishingtripfund2012. He collected the nodules.

I still have a few nodules of Montana agate that I decided to hang on to for myself. They are like chocolates, ya never know what you're gonna get...lol. Sometimes you can see the color or patterns in them by putting them in front of a high powered light (candling) but some don't want to give up their secrets so easily. I had some that I candled that looked really colorful with nice banding but when cut it was all surface color. Looks like you got a good one.

I like them both. Especially how you captured the MT pattern.
