Good friend of mine makes exotic critters with silver and cabs, her name is Ellen Jean Cole, her favorite "butterfly body" is the H poppy, because of the vibrant colors, and pink flowers. She says the long tail shapes give her critters movement.i will follow up on this post with one of her creations that is finished. Her "victorian" style is not for everyone, although i think they are super cool. Here is a set of 4 that are still in the "pupa" stage Happy Mothers Day IMG_8715 by paul forsythe, on Flickr IMG_8750 by paul forsythe, on Flickr

That's really nice! I like the texture and patina ... and the cabs, too.

Love the combination. Does she use cabs for wings sometimes?

Very cool looking. Funny you mention movement as before I even read your post I was thinking how the cabs remind me of the Koi fish in our pond and how their bodies gently curve as they swim.

Beautiful butterfly. I love the detail in the wings and that she's using scalloped bezel wire and then gallery wire over that for the body. Cool technique!
