Had a lot of family obligations lately. Lately, I find that whatever it is I HAVE to do, I'd rather be cabbing. There are not enough hours in a day. Been none stop rain, so no outside pictures. I'm always happy yo be cabbing rhodochrosite Bruno This is a really old cab. I noticed a tiny fracture at the top, so I recabbed it. The bonus is- the black smudge that was on the face is now gone. a small colla wood Rosaite, siderite and limonite probably some chrysocolla, too. Some more of vegasjames' rock Olympic poppy jasper from Wash. Love it! ruby in fuschite- as long as people keep buying them, I'll keep cabbing them. some of the flashiest larvakite I have seen. Very nice broadface flash across the whole thing

I was just talking earlier with someone about what we would rather be doing right now and rocks were on that list so I totally understand!
I love that rhodochrosite and great job on the larvakite. Might be the best cab ive ever seen of that stuff

I was really happy with the flash of this when I got done. Really nice material.

All of them are spectacular, for some reason I'm drawn to the little green and blue stripes in the colla wood. Maybe it's the contrast... Great work!

I love that stuff, but it is really hard to come by. It comes from one area on earth in Turkey. I was lucky enough to get a little from Roger in a trade. I have just a little left now. This never even saw the 80 wheel. Even though it is agatized pet wood, I worked it on the 220. Past experience has told me that the 80 is just too aggressive. The bonds between the copper minerals and the wood are not that strong.

I love the composition on that Olympic poppy jasper. I hope that's your entry into this month's cab contest... just sayin. Since April showers bring May flowers let's make the theme flowers. Cut a cab from either a stone named after a flower, flowers in the scene of the cab or a flower shape.

Rosaite, siderite and limonite probably some chrysocolla, too. Some more of vegasjames ' rock You have some malachite in there (darker green) and bromargyrite (silver bromide), which is the lime green. Interesting inclusion in the upper right that looks like a metal inclusion. Most likely hematite or magnetite.

Maybe it has hematite mixed in with it?

Does not look like any sidetite (iron carbonate) have seen. The siderite I have seen in brick red like this specimen I found at the copper mines:
The red in this piece is also siderite.:

vegasjames When I get outside pictures, I'll let you know. I don't know what it would be if not siderite.

Bruneau fan here. The tumbles come out slick, so I bet that cab feels great in hand. I got a piece of that wood from Roger also. Bet you'd hate to hear it was *gasp* tumbled. I made a pendant out of it and gave to a niece for Christmas a couple years ago.

Bruneau fan here. Love how it polishes up like butterscotch. The tumbles come out slick, so I bet that cab feels great in hand. I got a piece of that wood from Roger also. Bet you'd hate to hear it was *gasp* tumbled. I made a pendant out of it and gave to a niece for Christmas a couple years ago. I bet it tumbled nicely. Takes a great polish. Makes a better cab, though.
