Already making this tough, great job you three! Unfortunately I don't have anything with a flower name in it. Maybe I'll just make up something! Go for it! If you see flowers in it nobody is going to argue with you Will do. Mine should be done polishing in the rotary on Monday, I'll be imagining looking for flowers!

Yeah but did you know they are an edible flower? Well, the stems are at least. I didn't know it til I read your link just now I will admit that even though I thought I knew they were a flower I did have to Google it just to make sure before I started working on that cab

Tommy, I conveniently posted a link. I was about to clarify that statement. Yes, the cattail is a plant, but the "cattail" at the top is the seedhead of the flower. Have you ever seen one go "puff"? What a mess, floaters everywhere. Do not cut them and put them in a bag in a closet. The next time you think about them, they will have exploded. Don't ask me how I know... Yes, Tommy, you are good to go.

My mother used to spray fresh cattails with some sort of shellac. Prevented surprises!!

Exactly, Pat . In a previous life, I worked at a florist. If cattails were used in arrangements, they were sprayed with a fixative to prevent explosions. (Some people don't know of their messy tendencies! I learned quickly about spraying them, lol.)

We used to love playing with cattails.

Cattails are fun to have fights with. Tough enough you know you're getting smacked but then they'd pop. Make a hell of a mess but oh what fun!

Yes, but the city has started planting Cleveland Pear because they are a bit sturdier and less prone to splitting during our ice storms.

Oh Lord, don't tell city hall, they'll be raising our taxes to replace them! LOL!

Cattail roots are delicious when toasted. My Grandma used the seed heads as filler for pillows.
