I wanted to share this with you all, I love using these "shaker pegs" as dop sticks. They're way more comfortable to hold than the regular straight dowel type! I get them on Ebay.

Now that's a real cool idea. Any specific seller on Ebay you prefer? I'd like to try them. May help keep my finger joints from locking. Thanks!

I just take what's cheapest. I tried out the tiny ones last night and a few came off, if I remember correctly the wax doesn't like the wood on the first go-around but once the wood gets "dirty" that issue goes away. I think that's the same with new dowels also.
I wonder if you find a seller who has all kinds of sizes available if they'd send you a "sample" of each size before you go spending a lot of money. Before I got the medium sized ones I narrowed down the ends on some of the larger ones to accommodate smaller stones. With the tiny ones, I'm letting the wax go further than I would normally and then grinding it away when I work the cab.
