yeah... especially when it's going on two weeks without a cab and sales are dwindling and time is wasting in the month. I'm in one of those lulls where I keep telling myself it's important that I'm resting my hands and arms - and yet I work on projects - currently sanding and painting cabinets all day long - which take WAY more of a toll on my tendons. Horrible. I'm just getting started selling but don't need to make anything to sell. I did spend more than usual lapidary time doing fixes before listing and my left thumb is letting me know. I've stopped working and will see the doctor tomorrow. I never realized how much I use my left thumb and have given it a vacation. Yeah, our thumbs are pretty important. I think we take them for granted. My mom had 2 bad thumbs. The nerves in each had been severed in separate accidents. She could use them, but not very well.

I saw my doctor and most likely arthritis. It might be tendinitis. I'll wait until Tuesday, let my thumb cool down and then fix the cab I sold with a fracture. I need to make sure I don't overdo my time on the wheels.

You know you're a horrible cabber if your preforms turn into freeforms.

If you have slabs of gorgeous material and you wont cab it for fear of ruining it And that's why I don't cab. I can absolutely see myself buying stacks of beautiful slabs and being scared to death of messing them up. Result: dusty slabs and machines, sad non-cabber, no cabs.

...you are so dedicated to always grinding the tops of your cabs with the coarse grits that your girdles all turn out taller than your domes from trying to get out the scratches.

I have a thing about maybe never getting another piece and do I really want to mess with it I'm the same way. What I try to do, is get another "sacrificial" slab of the same kind to cut, so I always have one. I won't cut the first one until I get the mate.
