The slab is a little darker than I would prefer. Every time I looked at it I couldn't make up my mind, so the default is put it away. I'm going to do some repairs and recuts next week and I want to do something with this. I've cut a lot of BM, probably not as much as hookedonrocks, but I've never seen druzy on BM. My first thought was two trim at the light band, smooth the edges and face polish. If I trim beyond the band, I could go to plan b which is the pear shape I marked which is a better design but loses the druzy. What would you do?

Can't say right off what I'd do, but the images you posted look like different stones. Which is closest to the real color? After another look I think your outline's about right. I'd definitely go for the pattern and not the druse.

Yeah, I would go with pattern not the druzy.

Me four, I'd drop the druzy and keep the butt cheeks

The piece will probably end up with the pattern. It might start with the druse. I took a template and drew an arc that will leave enough room for the pear shape.

Trippy piece, The pattern,? does it run through to the other side.? Sometimes it fades, and the piece will Lose its cool contour lines. I would check that first. One of the most appealing things to me About that material, is the suttle , or even extreme, Colour changes on each side of the contour lines. Some times you can grind into some concentric Orby patters on the inside You can also read the slab ( sometimes from the side) The druzy part is a freak

Grinding it down wouldn't change it much. The light colored band on the bottom is abut 1/4" shorter. I want to face polish it to see what it will like before grinding the face. I'm letting my thumb recover until Tuesday and will see what it looks like.
