I started with 19, ended up with 14 completed. One fell off the dop, one still had scratches and went back for remedial sanding. The other three got orange peel and will need to go back a step or two. I cut all of the slabs myself. The rocks were mostly inherited. Some few were eBay finds. Here are some of my favorites from the batch. 1) Gold sheen obsidian. Sorry about the reflection. It was the only way the sheen would show up. 2) Purple agate 3) Bruneau 4) Tiger eye 5) Small unknown material. It’s very attractive but totally Opaque. 6) Purple agate 7) Brazilian. It looks better after I took the dop off. The greenness disappeared. 8) Mexican lace. 9) Bruneau 10) Here’s a photo of all the cabs completed since I got my 8V-1 a couple months ago. Photos 7, 8 and 9 are my favorites. Thanks for looking.

Nice. The Bruneau patterns are stunning. Really like #5. Hope someone can ID it. My first thought was Gary Green.

Great shine on that obsidian. I've seen some deep blue-green Owyhee (cannot recall which area) that looks a lot like 5 (some Gary Green, too, but usually with more going on, and Skaggs Green with less).

@rocks2dust
Thanks. Obsidian is my nemesis. Cabbing or tumbling, it’s tough to get a good shine. It’s also hard to slab sheen obsidian because it needs to be oriented parallel to the layers in the rock.

One more for the Mexican Lace, but I love the group shot as well.

Photographing cabs is difficult. After reviewing this post, all I can say is I’m sorry about the reflections and shadows.

They all look great, but the Purple Agates are my favorites of the group. That and the #5 freeform you created. I also think you got the best out of the #9 Bruneau too. I think the other Bruneau to the left of it (in the group photo) could be even better though.
