Presenting a piece of Strawberry Lace Onyx I received from Mr. and Mrs. wigglinrocks . This is a biggie, so lots of cab opportunities. Showing both dry and wet photos of each slice. Also that there is some translucency in places. I was inspired by the generosity of opalpyrexia , so there will be a prize for this contest. It will be an assortment of slabs and slabettes. I still cannot do a preform of your entry, but you might get a preform made by one of the cabbing experts here. Entries close at Midnight on 10-1-2019. Thanks for your entries.

I'll try this month again. I see a low mountain being engulfed in clouds. Reminds me of the Smokeys.

Nice choice, Nate.
Are we supposed to work around the obvious fractures, or are all the fractures healed? Maybe not the best rock to be cutting (drawing) cabs from. Just saying...

I realize this is all hypothetical, but picking the most appealing scene is only part of it. Avoiding vugs, pits and fractures actually even more important than looks.

Here is a photo of each side with any imperfections marked. There are no obvious unhealed fractures.

Bumping this up. wigglinrocks Rich does not provide junk slabs to others. This is a nice slab. I have already determined about 10 potential cabs from it, plus some tumbling flats. More cabs are there, just waiting to be discovered. Marked the areas that some would consider flaws. Some of my future cabs would include areas with crystal vugs, as I love cabs with crystals. I do not consider crystal vugs a flaw, but something special.

A little (and I mean little) embellishment to add some interest -
Darn coyote thought it was a cave, lol. Splat.

LOL. Maybe a gold or copper inlay in a cab to represent Wiley.

I don't know how you do it, but even the pictures of cabs you cut out from these look better than what I produce after hours of labor... They actually appear domed.

I hadn't noticed that but you're right, the left side appears to be illuminated while the right side seems to be in shadow.
