Finally got back into the shop and did some cutting! Solar flare wonderstone: softest stuff I've ever worked. I'm sure I was removing material on the soft 3,000! I may try to seal with hxtal, I'm not sure. parrot wing chrysocolla: Wonderfully solid and takes a fantastic polish. shattuckite: First time working this and its softer than I expected. May try to polish with one of the oxides...I'm not loving the 50k diamond on it. variscite: I think it's my favorite material. My son got this slab for me for Fathers Day! Thanks for looking.

All very nice! You might try Zam on muslin or felt for the Shattuckite. Most copper minerals polish nicely with it.

Thanks Rick! I'm still figuring out what works best on what. If only it was one size fits all.

I love that shade of green, what kind of variscite is it? I've struggled with a bit of Lucin, think I'll Hxtal the next bit before I shape it.

I'm pretty sure this is Lucin as well, though I'm not 100% sure. The slab has some darker areas unlike most Lucin I've seen, but most of it leads me to think that's what it is.

I vote for the parrotwing, too. But the shattuckite is pretty sweet.
