Thought about your projects as I drove through Georgia on the way home from Durham NC. Was going to hit the horn a few times but figured a chain saw/ falling tree or heavy equipment running would drown it out! Door is open, should have stopped by Henry. You were missed. I don't know, sure looks like a lot of work going on, I am not very good at dragging trees off to the burn pile!! Next time I happen to be by, I will plan on stopping.

Absolutely impressive. Thanks Tela. I ate a chunk out of retirement funds. Too much. Banking on ETSY sales to replenish that. Fire pits still going strong thank God so we are gambling on that income. I believe May 2019 to October 2019 have all been record sales compared to those months in years past. ETSY changes like the seasons. Man it is hard to keep up with that bunch. Now they are on a 'free shipping' campaign if you want to be found in their search. I thought adding freight costs to the listing price would kill my sales but not so. Them rich clients don't seem to care about price.
You have to be one of the few people NOT complaining about etsy sales. Good for you and a credit to your fire pits.
I meant to come back and comment on the suicide. Couldn't like the post, and can't find the words. So sad.

I hope I am not keeping you up late at night with my super exciting posts lol. I do miss playing with the glass and sawing up $1000 Murano's ha ha. I did slow down butchering the treasured vases and started melting that ole China made glass probably to your relief. Have you started finding some of those fine California rocks ? I see you hitting the outdoors a lot. You're not keeping up, James. She didn't like Cali. Bought a used truck and moved home.

The remoteness of your mountain location would keep me up at nights with security concerns when I was away from there. You mention "crazy mountain folks". I'm sure some are salt of the earth fine people, but it just takes one or two bad ones to take anything of value in no time at all.
You may want to build a HIDDEN hillside bunker to store valuables.
I don't recall, you going to have electric run out there?

There are 6 property owners on this road, one way back in the back that is full time. 3 vacant lots and 3 with cabins/homes. But the road is gated with code which helps. Crazy is more like salt of the earth characters, good folks for the most part. Very low theft location.

Yes sir, what Captbob said. I have no desire to start a place from scratch again. Got er done! 1st building arriving in 5 days toiv0. An erection crew is supposed to have it up in like 5 days. Music to my ears. Last thing I want to do is wrestle with assembling 20,000 pounds of steel. Yea, the mountain project is certainly a 'start from scratch'. But it is a small project. Hope so anyway. This project is being designed with absolutely the lowest maintenance structure. And heavily insulated. No gutters to plug up and long eaves to keep water away. A structure suitable for Toiv, MN or even Alaska. Location is like a ghost town. Very few neighbors. Some on the weekends. Gnarly spot. Loads of wild hogs, bears, turkey. Crazy mountain folks. You should fit in the hogs are going to like you. Don't know what is tastier hog or bear. I really like bear meat.

The rest is very steep and the Russians get some strong muscles constantly climbing. I used to assist a batch of hog hunters in keeping the dogs on leash on hunt. I have seen a small ~140 pound Russian dragging 5 clamped Catahoula hounds thru the woods as if they were tuxedo tails. I also witnessed my friend get his knee cap almost removed by the tusks of a Russian crippling him for life. A nasty beast of an animal.

That tore me up. Had you met that fellow and had you spent 10 minutes with him you would have been heart broken Tela. A very timid humble soul. I can't think about him w/out tearing up. Very unsettling. Apparently substance abuse was on issue. Hey, fire pits is a small product category with little competition. Nothing at all like jewelry of any category. Selling on Etsy in a popular category like jewelry is near impossible because you are a needle in the haystack, simple as that. You could say I was cheating by spending $500/month !!! on Etsy ads. Near 80% of my sales come from these ads. It costs to sell there.

And make a return to spending time on RTH. 2 years were set aside to bust ass for completing these final life tasks. Whilst healthy enough to accomplish them. Should be free for years after that and be a bum. Life without a camp away from home was unbearable. And my wife was wanting to get rid of me for durations lol.

You know you are going to get cold after being in sunny Cali.

Gonna freeze my off Hey, my sister moved and stayed out west. Dodged the take-care-of-parents duty. It was a most rewarding thing I ever did. But it about broke me. Thank God for my giving wife's assistance. Be proud Alison. They will need you. Warm clothes ?
