This went through several design phases until I was able to get it to hang right.
First there was this. I made the piece for it and even got it spot on, but I couldn't get it to hang right no matter how I did it. Then I tried different lengths of jumprings and finally settled on the finished design.
The top is hammered 16g, so it's plenty strong.
The end product. It hangs perfectly. This took way too long to do. And, let's not even talk about the pile of waste silver.

It looks fabulous!
Angles like that on stones when you wire wrap them are a royal pain in the butt to figure out. You did a great job working around the problem. I feel your pain on the scrap silver. Keep your first design and use it in another piece when you can. I have a whole bag of scrap silver from projects that I messed up that I intend to someday use for doing some casting or maybe melting into ingots to roll down if I can afford to get a rolling mill.

End result looks like it was worth the hassle. Beautiful finished product.

Nice!! Hanging odd shapes is also tricky with bezel set stones.
I bent the ends of long tweezers at right angles , so the tips touched each other—- kind of pigeon toed. Place the stone between the tweezer points, hold up to see how it dangles. Move slightly until you find the sweet spot.
Hope this makes sense!

Oh yeah, I save scrap. But, I also keep random pieces and handmade findings for use in other projects, too.

rockjunquie. I should have been more specific. Tweezers need to be long and thin—- pearl knotting tweezers or the like., so you can bend the feet to be pigeon toed. Not ordinary plucking type tweezers. Hope this helps.
