Was taken yesterday on my way to morning farm chores. We missed the bad stuff yesterday, but today is a different story. Still dark here, but from what I can see, there is over 1" of snow on the ground and still snowing. That will be changing to a snow/rain mix. Doing an extended shift at work today, 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Get a 30 minute break to eat, which is good. Hope I can get to work before the roads are really bad. The double shift is due to a co-worker having a last minute, very special event to attend. My co-workers, business owners and I are family and family helps out each other. Sorry for the small photo.

Snow here too I am finally giving in today and buying a winter coat. NOT what I want to spend money on but I gotta Yes, you need a Winter coat. Maybe a Hockey related one? I am wearing a Packers coat my daughter had in the early 1990's. Also have a more dressy down filled coat and a parka for farm chores. Do you have what I call a Nanook hat? I have one with rabbit fur lining and leather exterior. That is the best when there are -30+ wind chills.

The best thing when there are -30 + wind chills is to read about it while I am suffering through 70 degree weather!! Of course I did have to rinse a soap run of slabs and preforms off by hand outside yesterday morning in 36 degree weather!!

I was gonna head up north a ways to go shopping. We will see when it gets light out how the roads look.
We just call them trapper hats and no I dont have one anymore. All my winter stuff is long gone and half of it wouldnt fit anyways.
I am amazed at how cute Sorel boots are now and how expensive they have also become.

I think I might of said 20 times yesterday "What the bleeeppppp was I thinking" and it was a nice 37 degrees.

Just started getting chilly here. Our winter's are a crap shoot. Some are VERY cold, some just cold and some are frigid! Don't know what this will be. It usually starts to get chilly around Halloween and then heats up for Thanksgiving before turning cold again for again around Christmas to Feb.

Hey Ali. You are back home now and you love it.
I am still wearing 1990's Pack style Rod and Gun Boots + my 1970's childhood snowmobile boots. Have replaced the liners in these many times. Have a pair of newer Sorels, but they are kind of wimpy, even though they were rated to -30. 25' and my feet are frozen when it is above 0.
Do what you can to re-accumulate yourself to MN.

Cuddle Duds are your friend! I think Kohl's had them on sale this week and they have early "Black Friday" coupons. I still have a mess of them stashed away from when I lived in Chicago.

Sky prediction came true. Yesterday when driving back to my split shifts at work, encountered a short lasting blizzard. Then rain/sleet mix.

It's too early for that crappy weather. Hope it doesn't prove the Farmer's Almanac true.

The effects are lingering. Predicted low here of 2 tonight. I have never seen it that cold in early November, even when living on the shores of Lake Superior.
