The Yaquina Bay bridge and Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon
The last time I was here, the car blew a head gasket on that bridge. Towed it home with a U-Haul, which broke down three times on the way home. My son learned new words that day. Good times.

Sounds like an adventure.
I wouldn't want to break down on that bridge. I used to commute back and forth on shift work at the paper mill in Toledo.

Oh, It definitely was... Luckily I was able to coast off the bridge, but the fun was just starting.

Mural in progress at work. This greets people at the main complex entrance. The open door is 10' high.
The letters are lit from behind. They were salvaged from the outside of the building. Part of the word Shopko. Rumor has it the letter P will be mounted above the entrance to bathrooms.
Was 80 degrees at 9:00 AM yesterday. A perfect day for a morning dip in the pool and a freeze pop.
After pool time, AJ showed me his new cap. His Mom and Dad are UWSP Alumni. They have new caps, too. The intense look on his face is due to one of his fav shows being on TV.
Very cool news. The local brewery (Central Waters), in the community where I live, has purchased a former Pabst Brewing and tap house facility in Milwaukee. The building is a National and State Historic building, constructed in the mid 1800’s. They will be doing some pilot program brewing there and have a tap house. The tap house will have all of the favorites available in Amherst and some other Pilot brews available no where else.
I am so happy for them. Central Waters has been in existence for over 30 years. Great people doing great things. They hope to complete all renovations and start brewing later this Summer or early Fall.
Charlene and I met an interesting young man at the campground fishing dock yesterday. He was crabbing and fishing with cut bait for sharks. Guy walked with a limp and was missing three fingers on one hand and a bad looking scar on his forearm. Told us that sometime in the past he had been attacked by a shark while he was surfing at a local beach in Charleston SC. He took off one of his sandals and showed us what the shark did to his foot (missing about half of one foot, only a couple toes on the foot). Said he punched the shark in the eyes with a fist, got away from him and swam back to shore. He fishes for sharks now and his wife had just taken home two big fillets for dinner. He claims that he's getting some payback on the sharks.
To keep this post photo legal, here are some photos I took this morning after sunrise of a couple other toothy critters that were cruising in front of the campground. First gator was about a six footer and the second one was huge and I figure between ten to twelve feet long. Thank goodness we have a seawall in front of the entire length of the campground to keep these guys away from us. Had a camper tell me that they spotted one near the dumpster around the edge of the woods a few years ago.
Maybe it's a petrified/fossilized giant slug!?!? LOL

rockhobbyguy: I am very heartbroken to hear Lortone is going out of business. My motor on my 45c just went out and needs to be replaced. Since theses are now seemingly unavailable for good, does anyone know of another brand of motor that would work with a Lortone 45c.
