A gaggle of geese. There were hundreds of geese hanging out between Best Buy and I-39 the other day. I wonder why they chose that spot?

Unusual Tree Frog
Yesterday we found a very odd looking tree frog, of a type we never seen before.
At first we thought we might have brought him back from the Dead Lakes in some of the drift wood that we found.
After doing some research, it turns out he's not all that unusual. It seems he's a cross between a barking tree frog & a green tree frog, both of which occur on our property
Barking Tree Frog- Hyla gratiosa
Green Tree Frog - Dryophytes cinereus New Barking Green (or Green Barking) Tree Frog - ( species TBD)
We read that they have an unusual call, but we couldn't find a recording of it anywhere & he wasn't talking

I always thought Barking Frogs had a different origin, kinda like Barking spiders, thanks.

Handyman was here yesterday doing projects. The damaged deck roof was removed. Damaged facia and soffits replaced. He ended up replacing some of the boards, too. They were pretty rotten in places. While he was doing that, I was planting some grasses. Was given those at the local greenhouse/farm market. They are fairly close together on purpose. Other projects handyman did were removing gutters by front porch and installing a new screen door and entry door. Will try to get photos of those in the near future. It was almost dark when he took the gutter/downspout off. He installed the doors when it was dark out, but there was an outside light and hall light. He will be back in Spring to do some more work for me.

Just noticed. Some of my counter scraps are visible in front of the post in first photo. The handyman was very careful to ensure nothing fell on them. Sadly, Stone Innovations is no longer giving away their scraps. All are put in a grinder now. Most are used on the roads between counters in their sales yard.
The handyman was impressed with my counter scrap collection. He especially like the Larvikite.

Photos of where the gutters were removed and new front doors installed. The new doors allow morning sun to flow in a previous dark hallway. They also let me see who is at my door. The previous front door had one of those little arched windows at the top I could not see through. The entry door will be painted the same shade of green as the roof next Spring.

The package my Nephew from Australia recently arrived. He sent it on 9-2. It cleared Customs in California. Somewhere after that, it was rejected by Regional Customs. Was sent back too him. Australia Post intercepted it in New Zealand. It was sent back to the States. 5 days after being in New Zealand, I received it. Decided to open at my Daughter’s yesterday. This was a Halloween treat box. Many items were selected for AJ. He was so excited when I arrived at their place, as my Daughter had told him I was stopping by with a package from his Cousin Derek. My Daughter has been using a globe to teach him a little geography. So first, she showed him where the package came from. He was very interested. Even said WOW! Asked if a boat or plane brought it over the water. The big hit for AJ was the Potty Pop. A toilet shaped container. There was a lollipop attached to it. A packet of flavored sugar. The sugar was put in the toilet bowl. When the pop was wet, it was dipped into the bowl for a coating. He also loved the airplane with candy in the cockpit. He kept saying he was saving that candy for Halloween. He wanted ti take the airplane to bed with him last night. He only ate the potty pop and some graham crackers. Wanted to save the rest. Talk about restraint. My Nephew lives close to the Cadbury chocolate plant, so there was lots of Cadbury we cannot get in the states. I loved seeing the different names Australia has for Kellogg’s cereals. My nephew is a cereal addict, lol. Two of the large Cadbury bars and the black licorice were for me. I was very disappointed when the Fruit and Nut bars were discontinued in the States. I kept looking, but could find none in all the places I have lived. I had never heard of the white chocolate/caramel bars before. Looking forward to trying that. My daughter and I discussed what we are sending in return. I will post photos of those items. We have a great start on a box. They will be distributed to my Sisters and another Nephew and Niece. Derek will get the majority of items. It was a fun couple of hours before work for me. My Nephew said that exchanging boxes of stuff might become a regular thing.
