Hello, I am going to going to Canton, Ohio for some sports related trips with my son. Once will be later this week, and then again in July. While I know I won't likely have time this week, I will be able to scratch out a couple hours of time for this in July. Does anyone have any good suggestions while there? Thanks in advance, John

Well, it's not a field trip, but you'll have a good time visiting the V-Rock Shop in North Canton. www.vrockshop.com/I grew up in the Canton Ohio area and the only rocks you'll find there are limestone, sandstone, and some shale. Some of these contain fossils, but they don't outcrop in the Canton area and I can't think of any areas open to public collecting. All the best, Michael

90 minutes from Canton is Nethers Farm, noted for flint which tumbles remarkably well. Do some research and see if this floats your boat.
