I got a chunk of this stone from eBay a while back and I’ve been on the fence about the material. Some cabs come out pretty nice and some are rather meh. But I went ahead and made this pendant and used a 6mm blue topaz as an accent stone. It dresses up pretty nicely and I may be off the fence now!

Oh, damn! THAT is so sweet! Love the setting! Is that your first gemstone, I can't remember? It's very neat. Tube setting?

I’ve dabbled in it. I made a couple rings a while ago, one was a CZ and the other was moldavite. I’ve been wanting to add some gemstones to my pieces because it adds something a bit different I think. This kaleidoscope stone screamed ‘add some blue topaz to me’! Yes, tube set this one. The CZ I did, I soldered the whole basket from scratch to say that I could They are rather inexpensive prefabricated from Rio...I won’t be doing much more of that type of fabrication!

Wonderful pendant and framed so well! The way you continued the "halo" around with the topaz off-center and continuing the curve of the cab is just perfect.

And looking at my pictures helped me realize I bent it in polishing so I fixed that and now I think the curve is even a bit better.

Love it - nice design! I agree with you about the Kaleidoscope being problematical, but you did great with that piece and the blue of the topaz really works well with it.

That is a work of art. It takes a lot of talent to be able to visualize something like that and then actually make it happen.

But I went ahead and made this pendant and used a 6mm blue topaz as an accent stone. It dresses up pretty nicely and I may be off the fence now! I just picked up a piece of this material, partly because of this post. When I was trying to research the prism stone, I found this thread awhile back and I have come back several times just to look at this. This material is amazing, but your pendant really does send this one into the stratosphere! It's so beautiful! Love it - nice design! I agree with you about the Kaleidoscope being problematical, but you did great with that piece and the blue of the topaz really works well with it. These questions are for the both of you if you have time. What was it about the material you found to be "problematic"? Would I be correct in assuming problems can be due to the prism stone being constructed of several different types of material? It also appears it may have a tendency to fracture... Any tips on working this material?

I've also never heard the term "prism stone" unless its in Dark souls haha. I actually think there's a difference between the Kaleidoscope Prism Stone and the Kaleidoscope Jasper. When I google Kaleidoscope Jasper, it looks like a totally different material. There's several threads on RTH that show pics of the Jasper version, but doesn't really resemble this stuff...unless I overlooked something. Not doubting you necessarily as I have no experience other than Google...more doubting myself! LOL
