I couldn't find the post where somebody explained using a tube/shim to reduce the time screwing on/off the wing nut securing the UV10 vibe lid so I started a new thread. That post caused me to think about some brass speed nuts I have laying around so I tried one and it works great...the nut slides down the center shaft and when it contacts the lid washer the threads align and you can tighten like normal (first photo). It held good for 2 days of a 220 glass run so I'm confident it will hold going forward. And seeing as that worked out good I'm trying another one that holds the bowl to the center shaft so we'll see how that works for the 3 day pre-polish run that started today (second photo). The bowl nut being brass is water friendly and does not interfere with the lid when everything is tightened down. I have 2 bowls (one for 220 and one for pre-polish/polish) so bowls are on and off regular and screwing wingnuts on/off the 3 inch shaft gets old... Hi Braat,
Thanks for the photos and sharing this secret. Where do you get these fancy nuts?
