Edit: Just want to clarify the title of this post. This is not meant to imply a disregard for public safety measures. It's meant in the context of staying within the guidelines of isolation and social distancing. Within the confines of the "box" we're in, what are we doing to stay sane?I practiced a little social distancing today. Outside, hiking, music in one ear, nature in the other. Just me, the trails, and every stupid piece of quartz I could find. 14.3 lbs of filler to keep barrels topped off. What're y'all doing to stay sane in these times... and with cabin fever?

Nothing wrong with out of doors. Solitary activity is good whether it's standing beside a lapidary arbor, or leaning over the bars of a bicycle, jogging along a trail or taking photos in the backyard. I'm going to do all of the above as much as possible. Now that the library has closed I'm pleased that I have a minor horde of books I want to read.

I went to 2 different rock shows. My local one must've been a week later this year, as it is normally a week before the one over an hour away. Decided if they're having the shows I'm gonna go to them. Screw the Corona scare!

I picked up a bucket load of small quartz myself, going to use it for filler in the future. Even with all that’s going on, it’s nice to get back to nature.

I just put in a batch of river rocks in the hope that the will tumble quickly enough to be Easter eggs. I picked only stones that were already naturally round and eggly so they shouldn't take more than 1 week in coarse. i should have gotten pictures but i didn't have my camera. I also sorted my rocks again.
