Laughed to prevent crying. A couple friends wanted lotion bars and some specific crystals. I packaged everything (wearing gloves) in zipper freezer bags. Added a few mini peanut butter cups, as I know both love those. Left the bags on a high shelf in front hall.
Told my friends I would put the bags on my front steps today for pick up. They just needed to give me a 5 minute heads up before they came. The bags would have been in hall for 48 hours, untouched.
Yesterday I noticed that one of the bags was gone. Looked at the other and it was chewed.
Guessing that a rat found its way into my hall or utility room off hall. I have not heard/seen any rats for over a month, so this is very depressing.
Considering the weight of the missing bag, that was one determined rat. I looked around to try to find the bag with no luck.
I put a live trap in utility room, baited with peanut butter cup pieces.
My friends will be disappointed, but hopefully it will give them a good laugh. I am waiting to let them know later today when they are awake. Starting the process over again. will be leaving the bags in my car this time, as I know there are no critters in it.
