I just made Baked Cinnamon Donuts. Doesn’t really qualify as lunch.

I just made Baked Cinnamon Donuts. Doesn’t really qualify as lunch. Maybe not, but it sure sounds good! Cold-ish, windy and wet here. Turning on the oven and baking - then getting to enjoy! - cinnamon donuts (or rolls) or anything like that sounds reeeeeaaalllyyy good, Pat.

dreamrocks Have you tried those under sink filter systems? We are very happy with ours, no chlorine taste at all. My landlord won’t let me get one I asked if I bought from a water filtration company and have them maintain it nope nothing to do with it. I had the city test my water it was 300,000 parts per million more then recommended but showing him the report he still said no I don’t want it. I looked right at him and said I do it will cover both apartments and it’s on my dime. No I don’t want it. What a thoughtful considerate passionate well you fill in the blank for me......,,,,,,......,,,, I used your social distance dots to stay away from my thought

Time for another salad, some carrots, mandarins, and roast beef & Swiss sandwich. Gonna be looking good by the time the restaurants reopen.

Missed this. Lunch was chicken salad and chips again but I made up for it in the evening. Last night we fried up some Santee SC catfish fillets, stuffed blue crab, homemade coleslaw and baked beans.
Edit - Beans were not Bush's, hoarders got all of them.

Edit - Beans were not Bush's, hoarders got all of them. Sams had the BIG cans of baked beans. Large enough to serve on a chuck wagon, or to feed a company of Marines. I passed on them. Love Bush’s beans though. I grew up with one of the Bush kids. His class always won the canned goods drive at school, somehow.

Today was lunch at home. Roast beef and Swiss on a plain bagel. A handful of Doritos and some Crystal Light pink lemonade.

Yesterday was grilled hot dogs and we sat in the yard with the sun on our faces... Warmth and being outside! Today will be BLT's...

Today's lunch was my home made chili cheese fries. The fries were made from Burdock roots, which is a great potato substitute and more healthy. Used my homemade chili. Local colby cheese. I also made a hamburger with fresh leaf lettuce and tomato. Added a few sliced dill pickles. Black Cherry Jolly Good pop to drink. I had enough lettuce and tomato on the burger for a nice side salad. The bun was sour dough bread made by a good friend.

Burdock roots! Hmmm never tried that. They are tasty. They must be dug in early spring, when the plant is immature. Once the nutrients from the roots go into the plant, they become tough. This is also a great way to get rid of burdock plants.

I have a herbal book that says they can be eaten but only the young ones because the ones older then two or three years old tend to be woody I guess like a white purple top turnip would get after so big. Is that true or as long as they are gathered before they sprout you can still eat them
It also says in Russia they use several large leaves to wrap meat in then cook in the ground in a pit in place of tin foil or corn on the cob. Of coarse the pit is filled so deep with a bed coals then covered with so much dirt then add meat then cover the meat with dirt then leave buried several hours to cook
