So there's really not much about Ghost Fairburns on the web. That being said I think you're right. Here's one from some pictures that were posted on a page by Don jakesrocks , who I still believe to have been the premiere Fairburn expert here on RTH... I think they look pretty similar.

Played hooky again yesterday and went out for a few hours with a buddy of mine. It was a pretty good day, I found some decent stones. These are more of what I would consider signers...the second one might be destined for the saw.

Here's a few more. Decent patterns, but not fantastic Fairburns. I'm showing a few pictures of the first one just to show how covered the outside is with clear bands. And one spot with red banding. Two pics of this guy... And two of this one... And the last two. Thanks for looking.

cool pic of the burns in situ, Mike lots coolglacial stones rolled now on the baked clay
got a question how deep does that sediment go ? if you've ever dug in it
and are there lots of rock underneath?
why I ask is because if dig the Phoenix dirt 6 feet down and more you find very little rock its all soil
really strange because actually Phoeni is really rocky just got go real deep

There are lots of cool rocks in this area, lots of agates, jasper, quartz and chalcedony- my garage can attest to that fact... Of course I usually pass most of it by these days, I mostly just pick up the Fairburns any more.
I've pulled some stones out of the clay for sure but have never dug very deep. But I do know that in this soil and some of the finer soil in other areas Fairburns keep turning up year after year so the rocks must run pretty deep.
Maybe next time I'll take a shovel out and see if I can get you a more precise answer...

Good gawd almighty my friend!! What a fantastic day...again! There's a couple of those first ones that you pictured which I would think cutting in half might lead to some interior fortifications...particularly that second one! (You know as well as me how wrong that decision could be though! LOL)

I know what you're saying. I've never really had a lot of luck chasing more patterns inside of a stone but that doesn't mean it wouldn't produce some good results.
And some of those pictured probably aren't worth a whole lot as they are, but so far I don't collect them for the money and they might make some nice cabs.
Still...

You know MY views on cutting Fairburns! LOL - That being said, I would actually cut the first six you have pictured. I agree they come across more as Signers, so I'd be curious to see if there's anything on the interior. You remember Don had written one time that Signers "could" potentially have something more on the interior. I've actually found numerous Signers this summer and cut them all. Nothing of any merit, so I didn't take or post pics...but I'll continue doing it... The last ones you pictured (past the first six), I wouldn't touch. They're "perfect" the way they are! LOL

Near Fairburn there is definitely a rocky gravel layer about 3 feet thick with clay soil above and below. That clay soil doesn’t appear to be packed with rocks. This picture is from just South of the agate beds near French Creek.

Another pic of the gravel layer That's a little different from where we hunt. A few of the places are a bit like that, but we usually hunt the grasslands in Nebraska...

This is the grasslands East of Fairburn. There’s just a few Badlands looking hills around there but mostly rolling grasslands. Some of these hills are 150 feet tall however!

I think I've been on top of some of those hills... Or at least on the sides, trying not to slide down!

Went out on Saturday and found a few signers I'll probably cut just to see if anything comes of them. Plus this little guy...it's ok, like I always say better than getting skunked.
