Not duds at all... must have been a really nice wrap! Did you hunt out the trade after seeing the Fairburns or did they see the wrap first? I really liked the wrap. In fact, most people who looked at the wraps kept referring to, or picking that one up. It really was a nice capture on the pattern in the cab. She had come over to my booth and was looking at the wraps. I knew she was another vender. I think I'm the one who brought it up. I told her if she saw something she liked, to let me know and we could work out a possible trade. It worked out. LOL

It's close enough to Friday! These are the Fairburns I traded at the Fairburn Agate & Rock Swap this last weekend. I traded a Crazy Lace Agate wrap for these. There were two other small ones that I won't be able to cab...so I'll tumble them. I slabbed these this morning. Missed this post, very cool!

Thank you my friend! I'm hoping I can get four nice cabs out of what isn't used for a buckle. I think three will be "NICE" ones and then the fourth will be "not too bad".

Here's a little beauty of a Fairburn Agate my wife found out at Railroad Buttes today. I was super stoked for her! Very nice, I like the ones with quartz! Tell her congrats! 😁

I told her congratulations...she thought I was saying that because she just took a drink of water! LOL - I clarified what it was for! LOL

jasoninsdThat’s cool, she found a nice one! Will she actually keep it or does she give them to you?

jasoninsd That’s cool, she found a nice one! Will she actually keep it or does she give them to you? Oh no...that one will remain HERS for the rest of our eternity! LOL Heck, anything she finds and brings home, I can't touch. She puts "her finds" around her potted plants in the yard. I picked one up the other day - one that looked like it has some botryoidal pockets in it - and said "I wonder what this would look like cut..." She said, "Keep wondering...you're not touching that one!" LOL I think it's pretty cool that she has an "attachment" to her finds...it definitely makes them more special! Note: This Fairburn won't be put in the yard...it'll go on the shelf with the rest of the Fairburn finds...and in a place of "honor" which it deserves!

jasoninsd any photos to share of the general area you go hounding at Railroad Buttes ? It sounds like an old railroad grade ??
OR maybe it's just a name ?

Patty I have a thread about Railroad Buttes. I just posted some pics from yesterday in it and tagged you... I know a railroad went "by" the buttes back in the day...way back in the day...so I'm guessing that's how it was named...

jasoninsdThat is really cool that she likes them enough to keep them. My husband is starting to keep his finds too. I’m glad he is. (Most of the time lol)

aGates - Johnny, that is a BEAUTIFUL rock! I'm going to tag Mel ( Sabre52) to see if he'll chime in...but I believe that is a Montana Dryhead Agate. Definitely a gorgeous one...but the colors of the fortifications (the "burnt orange" colors) and the "purple-ish/darker brown" hue to the matrix really makes me think it's a Dryhead.

Thought you Fairburn fans might get a kick out of this: That was awesome!! Thanks for posting this!! It's amazing the amount of "Fairburn Hunters" (I can't call them rock hounds...) that have come about in the last couple years...and I'm pretty sure it was due to the pandemic with people looking for something to do. I also don't think there's been a lot of ground turnover in the last several years...so we're going to need some heavy snowfall and some much needed rain in order to turn up some new rocks...
