I see. The groove cut is deep. So as to let the epoxy grab on to something I imagine.
I lOVE the blue stone that sits to the side of the two examples here.
I MOh'stly understand the process now. I don't own a drill press yet, but can improvise.
I imagine that you leave the upperMoh'st top of the cleave unglued, so you could possibly drop a Silver setting on top, and have something for the glue to stick to.
I see what you mean by it being the trickiest part.

Hey Bill
I polish the heart all the way around Double domed- front to back- sides ect
wish I would take the time to dop I’ve done some of that With wax I was surprised that the wax held on the polish side
But I do it by free hand grind
The epoxy is amazing stuff That thin joint holds through all the grind process U know the pre- zipped groove, filled with poxy, helps with holding power It just a method that works really well,,,mostly
I’ve never had one snap in half Some are 10 years old and pretty abused Amazing
I tried a process of wire wrap Not grooved Try to find those pictures Anyway I get lot ideas
To many But i try to keep it simple Resources, space ect.. Time not such a problem anymore
I’ll open a rock'n heart factory someday
