I am looking for a large format tumbler. My intention is to work larger stones and up my production.
I currently have a uv 18 and a model B.
Has anyone used the diamond Pacific tumblers?

Without defining "larger", I am going to guess that you want to shape rocks that are 10" or more in diameter. Have a look at the 2nd product on this page. It is a variable speed polish kit, designed to handle much larger rocks. Comes with everything you would need too. cigarboxrock.com/new-equipment/Or you could get creative and come up with your own design: manofglass, hey Walt, would you have any links to a PCV design that you might have once referenced for any of your builds?

I cut the 6” PVC pipe to 9-1/2” cut a 4” hole in one Of the end caps for a 4” test plug then glue the caps on with PVC primer first then the PVC glue let set overnight Use a 4” hole saw to cut the hole

Many thanks and good info. I am looking to tumble rocks up to 8" diameter. I have a lot of stone that I've collected over the years and would like to see it tumbling.
It looks like I might have to build one to fit my needs.
As I am new to this forum, would someone be able to direct me to a build your own thread?

Howdy montannamatt, welcome from Australia.
Bigger is not necessarily the answer for large rocks, I make barrels from propane gas tanks, the kind you would use for a barbecue, so 12 to 14 inches diameter, similar length, they hold a massive amount of rock. But they are hopeless with large rocks. Even packed fairly full the large rocks are falling a big distance, pulverising everything else. Big barrels like that need to run on big rollers, I use 1" dia bright steel for the rollers.
I have some nice stuff I would like to tumble as big ones so I am looking at building another tumbler to take about six inch diameter barrels, I am eyeing off a short length of six inch dia rubber pipe that might be just right if I can get it.
