Run, Spot, run! (No matter what Dick & Jane say, Spot’s not going anywhere.) My entry is from a long-popular material, Polka-Dot Agate from Oregon. This particular stone was cut from rough personally dug by a friend and it's one of several types of patterns available in the material. It cuts easily. Slab (with undecided layouts - I chose the pear, obviously) Preform Finished Stone Side View With dime for scale

Here’s my entry for this month’s contest. Morgan Hill poppy jasper, 42mm x 12.5mm. This is my first Morgan hill cabochon and it was a total gamble as you can see by the rough, lots of fractures and rotted out orbs. I cut one slab from the rough and pulled it knowing the saw time was questionably worth it. The long narrow oval shape was a challenge for me, the toughest part was trying to keep an even girdle height toward either end of the cab.

Well done! It somehow reminds me of an American flag. That’s funny, the entire time I was cutting the stone I was thinking of the many red gold and green flags of various African nations.

Fresh off the dop Here’s my end cut dendritic, with spots Montana the hardest part about this was there was and still is but not as big a crack plus a nice chunk off the edge before I even started on the back. I tried to shape this as a clam shell I was almost done and another chip blew off considering I didn’t break it in half I think it came out ok. The back before starting Back is flat and shaped & off the dop
