I used to tumble a lot of stones maybe 30 or more years ago. Now I have some faceting rough I'd like to tumble polish so I can better see inclusions and color zoning.
I used to use a commercial product called Tumble Tabs as a thickening agent in the pre-polish and polishing stages. It increased the viscosity of the polishing compound and led to a quicker and better polish in my old Geode Industries vibrasonic machine.
I'm out of Tumble Tabs. What are the suggestions from the group for a substitute thickener? I've heard sugar mentioned. Any others?

Sugar would be the go-to for ease of use and predictability IMO
