I ran across some mentions online of a place in western Montana, specifically in Beaverhead County, where one might find some blue chalcedony. There appears to be at least one claim, called the "Glory Blue Chalcedony Gemstone Site, on thediggings.com/mines/usgs10192316It's really beautiful stuff, and has me itching to get my hands on some. But, I certainly don't want to claim jump anyone. Anyone know anything more about this area, or others where blue agate or chalcedony can be found in Idaho or western Montana? My wife and I are taking a road trip up to Northern Idaho soon to go after garnets. We might hit some other spots on the way back, if something catches our interest. Thanks in advance for the help!

This isn't about the Blur Chalcedony, but you might want to have a chat with Starguy about the garnets in Northern Idaho...he might know a thing or two about them.

Sounds good, Jason! 'Preciate it. I'll have to hit Starguy up. When we got there, the Emerald Creek location was closed, but we did end up purchasing some raw beauties from the guys at Huckleberry Garnet. Here's their Facebook, if anyone is interested: www.facebook.com/huckleberrygarnet. They also run a fee dig for fossils, and a motorcycle race track, at the same location. All kinds of fun! Lol. Anyway, I've been processing and cabbing the stones since we got them back then. They're turning out great!
