I haven't posted photos of the last few batches because they're all starting to look the same but this one has a couple interesting ones. All local finds except the Mookaite/ Agates in the center to bottom area. Top left is petwood, bottom left are faves in this batch but the banded brown one in the bottom left area is worthy of my favorites bowl for sure. The flawless mirror shine on it is as good as anything I've tumbled so far (photo doesn't really show it off real good). Hopefully I can find more of it... IMG_5659111 by braat33, on Flickr

You have a nice variety there! My favorites are the little pink and green fella on the lower left and the small yellow that fades to orange on the right. Are the speckled ones granite's? The banded brown one is cool too. Looks a lot like one I found in Louisiana long ago.

This batch came out shinier that previous batches...I'm guessing because (for the first time) I removed suspect polluters / known non-polishers early in the tumble (stage 2) . Previous batches I'd leave them go till the end....I'm a slow learner

Braat you have really nice shaping! Nice batch too. I like the small striped one at the bottom. Thanks...the shaping is more a result of impatience than anything. I use a tile saw to grind off the parts that take forever to wear off in the tumbler. The petwood in the photo I'm going to try shaping better in future to get away from the triangle look. I got a 70 (ish) lb petwood rock I found in the local river hills a couple years ago and I cut what you see in the photo off it without much attention to shape.

I like the triangles. I wondered how the pretzel Was so straight.

I like the triangles. I wondered how the pretzel Was so straight. The pretzel(s) are what I cut off a much larger piece that I was trying to shape with the tile saw. The larger piece is tumbling right now ( I think)...

Another vote for the triangles. I like them too. You are making me want to start on the pile of pet wood that I have..... I keep putting it lower on the priority list but after looking at yours, I may have to re-evaluate.

I like that these are self found. You have some really nice material! My fav's are the ones that are in the 8 O'clock - 9 O'clock position on the perimeter. REally neat! I also like the white"ish" Agate looking rock at the 3 O'clock position, which has the orange dots of color thrown in there. Thanks for sharing your batch!

Thanks..I used to feel sorry for myself when I saw all the exotic agates/ jaspers people tumbled here on RTH but the more I rock hounded and tumbled the more I figured out what to look for . For me the rock hounding is as rewarding as the tumbling ...

I feel exactly the same way Braat. I used to lament the lack of color in our local rocks but now I've come to appreciate their neat patterns and subtle crystal inclusions.
