My friend and I were on our way home from a work trip today and decided to hare off interstate 35 to do a quick tour and snap some photos around the Turner Falls area of Oklahoma. On our way back to I-35, we stopped at a roadcut for fun just to see what was laying around. I found these neat looking shale/ rhyolite rocks and she found a couple of rocks with crystal veins. We had a lot of fun since it was a spur of the moment choice to stop. The Arbuckle mnts area of Oklahoma is very scenic...especially in wildflower season. I'm hoping the rocks will take some kind of polish. I know shale can be brittle.
