I found this rock in Connecticut. The edges are actually sharp. I don't think it's quartz. What is it? Thanks!

Possibly. I just googled calcite and saw some photos that are Very similar. I’m going to try to clean it up better.

It looks like calcite to meas well. I find lots of it in our creeks here. Be careful how you clean it. It's super soft and scrubbing too hard with a toothbrush will bruise the crystal.

krista2882 If the rock has a hardness of 3 (try to scratch it with a copper penny before 1982) then it is calcite. It appears to have rhombohedrial cleavage, if you take a pocket knife and scratch up some white powder it should cause vinegar to bubble.
